Promotion of lifelong learning and mobility in secondary schools in the Moravian Silesian Region

The opening chapters of the diploma thesis describe European Union strategic plans and measures aiming to create suitable conditions for adult lifelong learning. The goal of this diploma thesis is to give an overview of how secondary schools participate on these strategic plans. The topic of the adult lifelong learning at secondary schools is approached mainly in connection with the Act 179/2006 Coll. describing validation and recognition of further learning results. The diploma thesis than describes in detail subsidies available for schools to support the so called mobilities. In the research part the dissertation attempts to determine correlation between the size or type of a school and its succes rate in retraining programmes or its engagement in mobilities. The selected research sample consists of secondary schools from the Moravian-Silesian region. The selection of the topic was influenced by the objectives defined in the strategic document "ET 2020" (Education and Training 2020). The first defined goal of this document is "to implement lifelong learning and mobility into learning". Public procurement in the programming period 2007 - 2013 under the Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness

This thesis deals with public procurement within Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness during the period 2007 2013. The introductory part of the thesis contains a brief description of Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness and its implementation into targets of regional politics. The following parts are dedicated to the public procurement in general and then in a specific envoronment of Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness. The fundamental part of the thesis illustrates process of supervision of the public contracts (ex-ante and ex-post), results of the checks and most frequent mistakes revealed during checks with a brief analysis of their causes and suggested steps to eliminate them in future. Next part of this thesis is aimed at ineligible expenditures caused by mistakes in public procurements. The final part contains a closer look at area of public procurement in the frame of current programming period 2014 and 2020.
The impact of the ESF to the development of education in the South Bohemia Region

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is the analysis of disbursement of funds from the European Social Fund, specifically the Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness in the programming period 2007 - 2013 to evaluate their current use and impact on the development of education in the South Bohemia Region. Because this issue is very extensive, this analysis is conducted on a sample of projects - and the projects submitted to global grants, which are administered by the South Bohemian Regional Authority. The evaluation of the information and observations to the use of the funds from the Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness is reviewed in conclusion part.
The analysis of submitted project applications within the Education for Competitivenes Operational Programme (within the framework of areas 2.1 and 2.2)

This diploma thesis deals with an analysis of submitted project applications within the Education for Competitivenes Operational Programme. The very beginning of thesis is paid attention to theory of human capital, where its development contribute to the growth of competitiveness not only individual but also society as a whole. Development of human capital is implemented primarily by supporting of education that has became a priority for the modern knowledge economy. The second part of diploma thesis is devoted to issue that the Czech republic has an opportunity to support development of education via the Education for Competitivenes Operational Programme. The greatest emphasis on characterization and description of Priority Axis 2 - Tertiary education whose two areas 2.1. Vocational education and 2.2 Higher education are analyzed. The aim of thesis is to analyze and evaluate the submitted project application served in the programming period 2007 - 2013 in the mentioned areas of support.
The Support for Competitiveness of Higher Education Institutions through Structural Funds

The aim of the thesis is to analyse and define how the Structural Funds can support competiveness of higher education institutions in the Czech Republic. The opening part provides a summary of the European Union Funds and the Operational Programme with emphasis on the Education for Competitiveness Operational Programme (ECOP) focused on improving the quality of and modernising systems of initial, tertiary and further education and improving the conditions in research and development. An analysis of concrete projects supported by the ECOP is introduced in the second part.
Education as a factor of the regional development of the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the issue of education and its importance as one of the factors of the regional development of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part is devoted to documents, strategies, programs and institutions dealing with education. The thesis also defines the term regional development presents some indicators of the regional development and shows opportunities for financial support for the regions. In the practical part, there is an analysis and a subsequent synthesis of the regional development indicators. Based on these indicators, there are compared individual regions of the Czech Republic. Annexes are a part of this work to expand the given information.
